They’re so Smart cause we’re so Stupid: “We Con the World…”

Lots of people have asked me what the feeling is in Israel today. Nothing says it better than this video clip from Latma (“whack”).

Laugh till you cry.

And then read this.

And then weep.

  1. Adi says:

With the Rachel Corrie steaming towards Gaza, Israel needs a new approach that attacks these suicide activists right where they are weakest- their honor/shame obsession.

Israel should board the boat in midday with female soldiers without guns (with helicopter backups of course…).
Odds are there will be no struggle and it will shame the arabs as well.

  2. incognito says:

    Adi,

I would like to hope you’re being facetious.

  3. incognito says:

And then read this. And then weep.

Richard, isn’t this inconsistent with your latest thread?

  4. obsy says:

    incognito,

    do you mean these sentences?

Maybe, ironically, the idiocy of world response to the Flotilla will be a turning point. If so, something like this can help.

Such issues are hard to judge while they are unfolding. But, I doubt that the left can free itself of the anti-colonialists.

  5. incognito says:

Anti-colonialism is only one factor and methinks not that strong.

Lefties need causes and, it turns out that having lost the socioeconomic battle in the west, they have extended the “oppression” to include that by the west of the 3rd world, or otherwise they would have become irrelevant and lost. They don’t give a ff about the islamists or, for that matter, anybody else. They are self-centered on their abstract, utopian cause, and taking revenge on the winner, the west.

  6. E.G. says:

Do you think the crew of the R.C. Liberation armada will reply in the same terms too?

  7. incognito says:

Even if they don’t, what difference does it make. They are striving to achieve the same result.

  8. incognito says:

But it does not fail to amaze me that when Erdogan says “lo tirzach” nobody accuses him of supporting holocaust.

  9. E.G. says:

    Incognito,

Right. We’ve been there 2000 years ago, which was a remake of what had happened (how long?) before. At least we’ve got experience to learn from. And a different time scale too (where were this witch-looking ancestors 2K years ago? Adulating trees and rocks, sacrificing their first born and virgin daughters to some divinity in Europe? Can she even trace them?)
But even in this worst case scenario, well, we’re still here. And it’s us, with our unicity.

  10. incognito says:

At least we’ve got experience to learn from.

But the whole point is precisely that the jews have NOT learned from experience, They all rushing to disassociate themselves from Israel, and Israel is curtailing its defenses to appease a world which wants Israel to go away.

I just watch a turkish jew on Mabat declaring “we’re turkish citizens in every way”; and Wiseltier who once criticized Judt for “replicating antisemitism” had a critique of Israel which sounded nothing but Judtian.
Would you call that learning from experience?

Would you say that the world’s behavior with respect to Iran, Turkey, Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, islamism and jihad reflects learning from experience?

At least in the 1930’s the world other than the axis was a bit more than indifferent; now everybody is against the jews. And ultimately the world detected the danger and responded united.

Adulating trees and rocks, sacrificing their first born and virgin daughters to some divinity in Europe? Can she even trace them?)

I am not sure I understand this correctly. The reality is that left to their own devices the 7th century regressors would have hanged themselves with their own ropes. The problem is that this time the world has collpased in front of them and is helping them destroying what’s left.

  11. incognito says:

One more: would you say that Israel has learned from experience after its various wars, Oslo, Lebanon and Gaza?

  14. obsy says:

    incognito,

that’s what I meant with anti-colonialists. Michelle wrote a while ago about the dilemma of the left ― that the human rights (in the original sense) caring people have been superseded by those “anti-colonialists” (i.e. IMO: white and western guilt fetishists who give a damn about other people and are obsessed in interpreting some kind of mental colonist attitude into almost anything.)

  15. obsy says:

I just realist that this comedy clip is superior in almost every journalistic standards to the average news reports about the incidents. It is even less biased, because its anti-activist statements are based on solid facts.

  16. Cynic says:

    Adi,

Well, for anyone paying attention at this hour, the freighter “Rachel Corrie” was encircled by Israeli boats and is now on its way to Ashdod.

  17. obsy says:

    Michelle,

another “piece of information” that Israel send out to quickly. Turks claim that (of all the Free Gaza terrorists) the Turkish-American one has been shot in the head 4 times from close proximity. This, so willing idiots claim, is a prove for an execution and Obama is soft on Israel because of the Holocaust and because this guy is mostly Turkish:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cenk-uygur/israeli-defense-forces-ex_b_600282.html

Or in form of a video:
    www youtube com / watch?v=LiCGD793na8

As the terrorists have been wearing these glass masks and the videos are in not too good quality, I doubt the IDF can come up with a video to disprove this claim.

Would the Turkish government lie? After all, it has been so honest in its claim not to islamize Turkey and such issues …

  18. incognito says:

have been superseded by those “anti-colonialists” (i.e. IMO: white and western guilt fetishists who give a damn about other people and are obsessed in interpreting some kind of mental colonist attitude into almost anything.)

Yes, of course. And your point is?

  19. incognito says:

I just realist that this comedy clip is superior in almost every journalistic standards to the average news reports about the incidents.

Don’t exaggerate. The world does not like being called stupid because it is.

It is even less biased, because its anti-activist statements are based on solid facts.

Solid facts to whom? The overwhelming evidence is that (a) the world does not want/ignores solid facts (b) the islamists create their own facts for the idiots.

    See what I mean?

    incognito,

it might interest you that I found this The-Young-Turks video in the favorite-list of a popular “league of reason” activist ― who is hailed by lots of people called “skeptics” (including James Randi), because he can argue well against creationists and is so intelligent and scientific:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/Thunderf00t#p/f
“US Citizen Executed In Israeli Flotilla Raid?”

  22. obsy says:

    incognito,

that reminds me of something oao said to me a year ago: “scientists don’t expect to be lied to”

I might add that Islamic culture is more familiar with lies then ours.

  23. incognito says:

who is hailed by lots of people called “skeptics” (including James Randi), because he can argue well against creationists and is so intelligent and scientific

JR and his groupies deal primarily with paranormal claims, he having an advantage as a magician in detecting their methods. Other than that, their skepticism is rather limited and they are as naive about sociopolitical matters as the average person. In fact more, because their life does not require their involvement with such issues.

“scientists don’t expect to be lied to”

Natural scientists don’t because their subject matter does not lie. In fact they are some of the most gullible when it comes to even the paranormal, let alone social reality.

Social “scientists” often delude themselves that they are doing as natural a science as physicists and chemists, so the possibility of lying, whether consciously or not, escapes them.

  25. Michelle Schatzman says:

Obsy #19, I don’t know whether Israel sent info too fast. I have never been a combat soldier, so I don’t know what it feels like to kil someone who is trying to kill you. However, I believe it is irrelevant whether you shoot once, twice, or four times the same person, provided that you have enough ammunition to get rid of everyone you want to get rid of.

I can’t fathom why the Erdogan government should make such a stupid argument. They are obviously trying to fan the flames, there isn’t anything more beyond this observation.

  26. incognito says:

Looks like you can fathom pretty well.

  27. incognito says:

For all those “positive” thinkers here:

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2010/06/026473.php

If this happens can you pls tell me this is not the post-west world?

The only way to prevent war is to force Israel to lift the blockade. Once that happens you’ve got an Iranian port on the Mediterranean.

Now tell me, how is that NOT a post-west?

  28. incognito says:

Hillary is right: the blockade IS unsustainable, because Iran and Turkey defeated the US and west and they know it.

  29. incognito says:

Apropos the title of the song that is the subject of this thread:

    http://www.viciousbabushka.com/2010/06/doofus-of-the-day-german-jews-announce-their-very-own-blockaderunning-flotilla.html

    GERMAN jews, of all!

Anybody still thinks the jews have learned anything?

  30. E.G. says:

    incognito,

The German Jews are a special case.
My post to you about them was long held by the filters on another thread.
Grosso modo, I argued that they can only see the “Beast” on the RW, they have some blindness for the one on the Left. At least, the escapees who never lived under the latter (e.g. in Israel or in the US).

  31. obsy says:

    incognito,

Iran will do nothing that would provoke in war against itself until its nukes are ready – let alone start one. They are not that stupid.

  32. obsy says:

E.G, also you can find “12 and 16 people” of any confession in any nation (except the Vatican) who do something extremely stupid.

  33. E.G. says:

    obsy #35,

I’m not sure I fully understand.
My argument is different than the “normal proportion of nuts” in a population distribution.
    It’s more akin to a post-Traumatic-Syndrome one.

And, when you’ve read the Heinsohn paper, I’d be very most eagerly interested and grateful to read your reaction.

  34. incognito says:

Iran will do nothing that would provoke in war against itself until its nukes are ready – let alone start one. They are not that stupid.

    1. Is there so much time left until they do?

    2. They’ll be stupid if they don’t. I gurantee you if they do NOBODY will stop them and they will sail very fast to Gaza. And if the Turkish navy joins them it’s all over baby. They just gotta have the guts, the west will fold.

  35. incognito says:

The German Jews are a special case.

    Yup, a nutcase.

  36. obsy says:

    E.G,

I know. I wanted to add another possible cause. I don’t want to decide which one is right or whether they are mixed in this case.

There has been a pleasant development this year in the Central Council of Jews in Germany. They started seeing trends in Germany’s Muslim population as very worrying.

And here is an article (English) almost defending Israel’s blockade and softly criticizing Germany’s socialist party (renamed former ruling party in the GDR):

    http://www.zentralratdjuden.de/en/topic/107.html

  37. E.G. says:

    obsy,

Sometimes politeness helps… to get killed. Or just stepped on.

  38. incognito says:

They started seeing trends in Germany’s Muslim population as very worrying.

Took them awhile, though. What are they doing about it?

And here is an article (English) almost defending Israel’s blockade and softly criticizing Germany’s socialist party (renamed former ruling party in the GDR)

Oh, wow. Anyway, it won’t help them.
