I noticed that you haven’t kept up your Augean Stables blog for awhile. I figured at first that you were busy with the beginning of the semester at B.U., but it’s been over a month, so I was wondering if you were okay.

  2. Judith Rosay says:

  3. Cathy Benson says:

    Glad to see you back

    Dear Mr Landes,

Your lengthy writings are best when read on paper. However, the new website seems to have omitted the “print” option, why?

  5. PW Virginia USA says:

excellent writing…I only wish the MSM would print this so that the less concerned would get a clearer point of view…I looked for a spot to forward this but couldn’t find it.

  6. ED says:

I have always admired your analysis of world events. You explain things in a simple and straight forward way that makes sense of what on the surface is weird and inexplicable.

Can you have an RSS feed of the website? I await your articles, but it will be easier to have an RSS feed.

    Dear Professor Landes,
I have two questions, please. First, what is the best discussion that you know of the legality or illegality of west bank settlements, as well as their moral standing? Second, should Israel retain its’ Jewish identity—-What would be a good discussion to read?
    THANK YOU,

    Hello Richard,

I am reading some of your excellent Essays on France. Very insightful and interesting.

I note that one of your categories on the blog is Eurabia, but I wonder whether you have actually read the book itself: Eurabia:The EuroArab axis by Bat Yeor?

    best wishes
    Jill

    Hi
My name is Tomas I work for the Sderot Media Centre. A couple of months ago we had an Intern who has now returned to the UK, shes currently working on a summer camp and has sent us an enquiry, which I was wondering if you could help with. She is looking for Doctored photos of Israeli Troops, in the original the troops are helping a Palistinian in the doctored version the Soldier is brandishing his rifle in the palistinians face.

i remember one in particular of an israeli soldier during the operation defensive shield (Jenin 2001). it was treated at length in a documentary on jenin by Martin Himmel: Jenin: Massacring the Truth (http://www.aish.com/jw/mo/48942341.html) or Avi Davis, Jenin: The Battle for Truth. I think the photo appeared on the cover of a major magazine and it had been photo-shopped to make the soldier look menacing to the people he was protecting.

    Richard,

We are losing the hasbara battle. This is definitive proof that the muslim honor-shame caliphate is quickly taking over the world! They even managed to trick the MSM into believing a non-muslim, indeed a MUSLIM who managed to act as though he hates muslims and supports israel did the Oslo massacre!

Quick, write more articles! lobby more congressmen! israel’s future is in your hands!

Came across your article “Liberal intellectuals are frightened of confronting Islam’s honour-shame culture” at Brigitte Gabriel’s site. Wonderful ! One issue cannot find anywhere discussed. Location of Israel. Agree that legally it is 100% correct. But morally ? We are trying to kill a beast (radical islam). If you can’t kill the beast (as 60 years of non-stop struggle shows), next you must starve it. Israel inadvertently feeds the beast (medical care, millions of dollars to appease them). Wouln’t it be simply smart to move to a carribean island for example. Compared to 60 years of war such transfer of 5 million jews is minor hassle. Israel will become a leading nation in peace, radical muslims will lose their support without Israel. The world will change for better. Maybe if so desired, jews will return to palestine once radical islam is defeated.
Am I the only one thinking about this ? Please comment.

France 2 has released a video of a 2 hours documentary on the Israel Palestine conflict.

    http://oeil-sur-la-planete.france2.fr/?page=emissions&id_rubrique=89

If you listen to the comment, it’s “blame Israel” for pretty much everything. But the images and the interviewees contradict the comment.

    For example :
    1. The images of Ramallah’s prosperity. This could not have happened without the approval of Israel which is still the ruler of the West Bank, same for the police academy.
They talk of constant humiliation but the people of Ramallah look much happier than the Palestiniens from Beyrouth.
    2. In Gaza, the journalist blames both sides in a strictly equivalent fashion for the rockets and the air strikes. But the Gaza man says “these rockets lead us nowhere”. He knows they are being fired without provocation.
    3. In Beyrouth, they list as a cause for the exile that the Israeli have deliberately expelled Palestiniens. But the old man at the UNRWA office says: “they promised us they would push the Jews into the sea and we are still waiting”. He did not get expelled, he left as he was advised to by the invading Arab armies.

And it goes on and on with these contradictions…

In passing, it is important to note that the artistic depiction of Mohammed is in fact, NOT prohibited in Islam.
Those Islamists who endlessly proclaim that it is forbidden are simply dong so as a means toward political power. They re LIARS.There have been countless ISLAMIC artistic depictions of Mohammed in Islamic history.
To view some medieval and post-medieval ISLAMIC paintings of Mohammed, click on link below (or rewrite it)

    Dear Richard,
I came across this sentence: “Se trouvaient la toute la serie des ‘Carot Coupe-Tete’ de Mautice Landais ou l’on voyait des sans-culottes et des ci-devant en perruque.” (les Noisettes Sauvages par Robert Sabatier)
Wondering if Maurice Landais is a relative. According to the story, a post WWI author.
